Arrowpoint CorporationConcord, CA
Web Application DeveloperJul 2007 – Feb 2013
As a web application developer my duties consist of contributing in product design, the development, and implementation of application features, as well as the testing and maintenance of code during the pre and post release phases.

• Contributed to the development of Configuration Data Manager’s Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA).
• CDMD-OA is an application used to manage the logistical operations of the Navy. This project gave me the opportunity to work with a feature-rich application deep in development. I was tasked with improving the front-end as well as the development of new features and pages. On CDMD-OA I undertook the challenge of creating a generic find and replace feature that can search any dataset regardless of which table was queried by oracle. Along with the standard process of finding bugs in the application and implementing a fix for those issues, there were also a several pages I built. These pages which would compare the potential configuration changes to a master configuration file, it would then highlight the differences via css determined as the page is loaded.

• Undertook responsibilities of upgrading and maintaining the web application: Retro Stop-Loss (RSL)
• Retro Stop-Loss (RSL) is a tool that is used to manage soldiers cases who were asked to extend their call of duty and have accordingly earned additional payment. This project is a joining of SharePoint and ASP.NET. Retro Stop-Loss was my first opportunity to use SharePoint, and through this project I would build and maintain various ASP.NET controls and plug them into a SharePoint site. I also constructed event handlers that are tied to a SharePoint list so certain routines run when new list items are added, the routine then can write to our oracle database. The customer wanted an easier way to install these upgrades and I learned how to create a SharePoint solution package using WSP builder in order to streamline the deployment process of SharePoint solutions.

• Assisted in the development and maintenance of the application: Work Mapping Tool (WMT).
• Work Mapping Tool (WMT) is a military project management tool that is used for organizing various administrative tasks. For this project I was tasked to build several new pages (front-end/back-end) and customize other pages. WMT went through two .NET framework upgrades from .NET 1.1 to 2.0 and then from .NET 2.0 to 3.5 and it was my responsibility to assist with conversion of the site pages. Arrowpoint then wanted to standardize their applications and WMT inherited our in-house framework: the ADCF Framework. The ADCF framework is a 5-tier approach that essentially allows us more security and a standardized way of accessing data using stored procedures. WMT needed to go through major rewrite in order to use the framework properly. It was my task to convert classes and user interfaces so it could use the presentation/business/data tier approach.

SQA EngineerFeb 2007-Mar 2007
• Aided in the development of an expansion of the video game: Ultima Online: Kingdom Reborn. The MMO was transitioning from a 2-D game to a 3-D game and I would actively seek out user interface bugs and would be responsible for implementing a fix.
• Learned to program in the languages Lua, XML, and an home-brewed scripting language called “wombat” and helped to train two new workers.
• On the job I learned how to use Visual Studio plug-ins: VSLua and XMLSpy.
